Wanted to see if there is any decent fishing around San Jose (say 2 hour drive or less). Still looking for a canoe but have not pulled the trigger yet. Ideas appreciated. Mike

Several lakes in the area. Lexington, Anderson, Coyote, Calero, Uvas, Del Vale, San Pablo. San Luis Res. is a short drive from where you are also.

Mike, I used to fish Lexington and did alright. Calero is ok as well...what type of fishing? Bass, trout?

You may want to look into a sit on top Kayak instead of a canoe. There's a ton of guys that fish Monterey Bay and SF Bay with them. I'd ck out Nor Cal Kayaks and join their forum they are nice people and really into it. I discovered I'm to old for it but it's worth looking into.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.Randy - Just looking for some decent fishing. Bass or trout would work.
