My son and I took my new Air Ranger out rabbit hunting and the gun was laser accurate and dam what a thump that .25 makes when it hit those rabbits. We got our first one at 37 yards and all the rest were around 40-70 yards and man were there a lot of them, we must have seen 30-50 rabbits. The rabbits were comming out of everywhere faster then we could shoot them, it was almost like they were charging us and trying to atack....lol Head shotPosted ImageHead shotPosted ImageHead shotPosted ImageHead shotPosted ImageHead shotPosted ImageHead shot, this went in one eye and out the other.Posted ImageHead shotPosted Image

Thanks, and head shots from those distances are very easy as my gun can easily do them out to 100+ yards, farthest one I have gotten was 105 yards.

Nice shooting. :1106:
You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

Nice shots. That thing is on the money...

Thanks, this is my first Hawke scope and my first side focus so it's going to take a little while to get use to it. All of my other guns have Bushnell and there all front focus and they have a lot more range numbers printed on them. But the Hawke 8.5-25x42 Sidewinder Tactical 30mm with it's 20x 1/2 mil dot IR recital it pretty nice and makes hold over very easy. The IR is great in low light but the scope marks are smaller then the ones on the Bushnell so I have to get used to that too.

Those are some nice rifles you have CBR. I am ruined for life, I should never have put one in my hand and pull the trigger. Now I need to figure out how to talk the wife into letting me spend $3,000 on an air rifle.

Sorry about that.....lol but you don't need to spend $3k you can get a very nice spring or PCP gun in .22 for around $500+ new or less used.

Air guns come in pump, spring, CO2 and PCP which is what I use in .22 and .25 to hunt. My PCP airguns run on 3000-3400psi of compressed air, there super accurate, there capable of sub 1" groups at 100 yards, very high quality and mouse fart quiet.

That would be incredibly awesome! Once I get my hunting license for this year (hopefully next week sometime) I'll either give you a call or send you a message to set something up in the future. :signs653wf: By the way, I see that you have a Benjamin Marauder .22 cal. How do you like it and if you couldn't get that one, is there another in around that price range you feel would be a good PCP? I've been eyeing that particular air rifle on Pyramydair.com and I'm thinking about saving up for one of the packages they have (rifle, pump, scope, etc.). I want a PCP and know that to get into PCP guns can be a big investment. With the economy the way it is right now and with work being what it is, I want to make sure that I'll be happy with my purchase for many years to come. Thanks for any opinions or suggestions you might have.

Well your more then welcome to come over and try the M-rod I have to see if you like it before you buy one I have a 25 yard range at my place in El Cajon and the M-rod is actually my sons gun as I like the more high end stuff. I think the M-rod is a great value for the money and with a little tuning they are great guns. I'm not sure what else there is in the M-rod price range in a PCP, I know you can get some very good spring guns that are very accurate and don't need an air source.

Thanks for the offer CBR, I might take you up on that one of these days. The main thing with my purchase is getting the best PCP rifle I can for as little initial investment as possible. I need to try to be somewhat frugal. I do own a Benjamin Trail NP XL 1100 (.22 Cal)which has a Nitro Piston and I do like that rifle. I also have a Gamo Whisper .22 (which will do the job, but it's not as nice). So I'm set with the "springers" for now. I do like how quiet the .22 cal Marauder is and that is also a factor that I'm taking into consideration. I like as low a report as possible. The quieter the better for me.

305mcss I tuned the gun, added a de-pinger, opened up the baffles, aligned the shroud, changed the trigger and spring and I stripped the stock and changed it from an ambidextrous to right hand.

CBR400RR did a real nice job on that .22 Marauder too. I've personally seen it and he did a first rate job. The stock looks fantastic and the finish is excellent. He did a great job turning it into a right handed stock with some slight modifications to the grip area also. All in all... very professional. :signs1180lq:

305mcss, I have (2) Benjamin Marauders. One in .22 and now one in .25 and I like them both. The .25 has the Green Mountain barrel so it shoots almost anything fairly well (even Predator Polymags). The .22 I got seems to shoot pretty good. I use the JSB Diabolo Jumbo Exact Heavy 18.1 pellets in it and I've got is set to shoot them at around 870 FPS average which calculates to around 30 FPE at the muzzle. I've head shot squirrels with it at 82 yards and the pellet has passed right through the squirrels head. So it defintely has some power. Not as much as some, but more than others. The nice thing about the Marauders is that they are very quiet, especially after being depinged. The sound of the ping of the hammer hitting the valve is usually louder than the report of the rifle. They are also a lower initial investment compared to many other air rifles. Plus they can be tuned to shoot slower or a little faster depending on your desired results. In the end though, you are the one that has to be happy with the purchase. In my opinion though, it's a great bang for the buck! :P Have fun researching them!Air Rifle Hunter :014:
