Mild temperatures with light wind made for one of the best days this winter so far. Took it as a sign from above that somebody wanted me to harvest a few bunnies.. and seeing you guys are coming up on cotton tail season, thought I'd share a few pics :DPosted ImageI only take head shots at rabbits as it's a shame to waste any meat. Posted ImageHard to imagine that such a cute and tasty critter is Australia's most destructive introduced species and before the biological controls, sent the farming industry broke.Despite having it's face removed, this little bunny remained defiant to the end :D Posted ImagePretty happy with the new hand loads.. the 32gr. V-max and H4895 are giving pin point accuracy from the 204.. just the ticket for consistent head shots on rabbits out to 250 yards. As the spring breeding season moves into summer, numbers will explode and using the 22LR I'll shoot around 1500-2000 rabbits on this one property, which is only 400 acres in size. Those trails in the grass are made by rabbits and the local wallaby population. Feral cats and foxes also frequent the area, although I cleaned a lot of foxes up earlier in the year, but the 1080 bait program took out most.Posted Image

Way to go nice bunch of bunnies and nice shots. Getting hard to wait to go after them . Just three and a half days till we can chase them. What rifle are you using?.
You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

Good shooting. I aspire to shoot only head shots.
