Rookie here for d12 also, what parts are you thinking of going

The key to D12 and any zone is scout it out . The deer are scattered all over the zone , get a good set of boots because if you want to find those smart SOB's you're going to have to put in a lot of hiking time in . The zone got a good amount of rain this winter so there are springs holding water , so they might not be using the guzzlers as much or at all , that's how last season was . Each season the deer seem to be in different area's , depends on how good the food source and water is . It's a rough zone , so prepare for it ....good luck

I have no clue I'm just researching area and map scouting on paper.

went out this past weekend to test the jeep/scout a bit, i went around the mammoth wash area east of calipatria, google earth the area.. you can get a better idea of the areas.. i'll be hunting that area, its about 40 miles from my pad... rough terrain.. need 4x4 for sure or atv
