So I found a place on Google Maps thats looks promising for Deer. I went to do some scouting and found that there was an animal preserve gate blocking my way. The actual area I want to get to is well beyond the preserve. I am still trying to find a number for whoever controls the preserve but my questions are:1. Am I able to pass through the preserve to take a deer?2. If the gate is closed, is foot traffic still allowed?Irishcamel

My recommendation would be to contact the agency that runs the preserve and ask them directly. Maybe it is a bird preserve and they wouldn't have a problem. I think their answer may be NO because if you got a deer there is always the proof issue of did you take it in the preserve. But they would be able to give you that answer and get the name of the person you spoke with. Getting something in writing would be your best bet.

Found out that the county owns the land. The area is no longer a nature preserve but might be a county park. A phone call and follow-up email was sent inquiring whether I can cross through the county land/maybe park to access legal hunting grounds.

I hope you have positive results. At least you'll get an answer.
