Tomorrow night I get on the redeye from LAX for JFK and then Monday I get on the 17.5 hour flight to Johannesburg, South Africa landing there Tuesday morning and then the three hour flight to Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. I'll spend the night there and then I have a 7 hour drive to the Omay South to start 9 days of hunting for Cape Buffalo, Eland and Impala.I don't think I'll sleep tonight!

good luck and have a safe flight..I flew to Johannesburg, South Africa for work once. left SFO to Dakar, SA. We had a short layover without deboarding the plane (change passengers, fuel, etc) if you were continuing on to Johannesburg they disinfected us & the plane with 4 cans of Lysol. OMG! So if I ever have to do that again I'm carrying a filtered mask for the Lysol spray down.

Thanks all,I'm flying nonstop from JFK to Johannesburg so there is no delousing on this flight. I start the malaria prophylatic tomorrow to get some in my system before I land in Zim. Then it's one pill a day until a week after I get home. My doctor gave me sleeping pils for the flights, Anti-nausea medicine, a broad sprectum anti-biotic and anti-diarrhea, etc. My suitcase looks like a travelling drugstore.

Thanks guys, I just picked up the Lincoln Towncar from Avis here in Bakersfield for the ride up to LAX. If you're going to Africa you have to go first class (actually since I'm Avis Black they automatically upgrade me for every rental) I'll be leaving here in a couple of hours.See you all when I get back!
