Do you think the .25 Mrod is enough? I think the guy said he had to shoot one twice to kill it.

No - the Marauder is maybe 45 fpe with the right pellet. I have shot half a dozen opossums with my .25 and they all went right down even with heart/lung shots but they were maybe 10 lbs. I would want at least 100 fpe and preferable 150+ for something that large and tough with real good shot placement.

I have to agree with Brant on the FPE. But we won't have to worry about that in California since it would be illegal to shoot a hog with an air rifle. These sure aren't your old Daisey BB guns.

Interesting chart on PCP power/game recommendations. For deer I think 500 fpe or higher is preferred...Posted Image

I wouldn't use a .25 Mrod on a pig even if it was leagal and I never thought it was a good idea I was just asking others thoughts. I have seen custom big bore PCP shooting as high as 702fpe which could take down a lot I bet.

Right - and besides the Stubby tank/valve on my 22 Condor with 32.4 Eun Jins has about 30 fpe more than the Marauder 25 with a 31.02 gr Kodiak. The testing we are doing with a 9mm LW barrel on a Condor is giving about 150 fpe which is a lot better suited.

California lets us shoot turkey with a .20cal or bigger and I think the .20cal is to small. But there are some really powerful airguns out there that would be well suited to anything we have in our state. Too bad California can't see that.

I know a lot of guys in Hawaii use a 22lr on pigs. Usually point blank like those chaps in Swamp People. But a lot just use a knife too.
