hey gang i have a winchester model 70 xrt sporter mag . can i shoot 225 sst from hornaday in it or is that load to hot ?its an all stock gun just dont want issues with putting to hot of a load in this gun any ideas this ammo is about the cheapest i have seen thanks guys

While living in Alaska, I routinely fired factory 300 Gr. .338 Win Mag slugs from my Browning BAR Gr. II with no problems except scope-eye on occasion. The 4,000 ft. lbs. of muzzle energy comes with higher recoil..... You should have no problems firing the Hornady 225 SST's in your Winchester assuming it's in good condition.

yeah its in great condition has some wear from it being carried on multiple hunting trips but its my dads on loan till he passes (lol my brother wants all my dads stuff so its only a loan that will never be returned lol )thanks
