I've been neglecting these two, so it's time to give it a face lift. The 6MM Remington will be stock with Anchutz Silhouette Style Thumbhole stock in Black and Gray Laminate, whereas the 280 will be stock with Dual Grip Thumbhole style in Black Widow Laminate. This will be fun.Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

Those 2 are going to look nice. I like the black and gray color but not sure of the styles. What style feels better to you?

Could you weigh the stocks and post the weights? I sure like the looks of the Grey Anshutcz style stock!

Are they both mausers? What kind of stocks did they used to wear?

Yep, both Argie 1909. They're my first two bolt rifle. I build them about 18 years ago. The 280 had Fajen while the 6MM had some unknown Walnut that I found at a Gunshow for $15.00. I bedded both with Acraglass gell from Brownell and both shoot really well.Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

You should see my bedding job on these stocks. It was my first attempt, and I think I over did it. I will use the walnut to practice checkering.

Let me know if you want more practice. I have a semi inlet buttstock for a Savage model 99 that needs fitting. :sport037fn4:
