Went to Idaho last year for deer and Elk. Manage to get a few decent bucks - no real wall hangers. However, there was a crazy woodsman near our camp --- this was actually funny. Some previous camper was bored and set-up this wood man...they even got creative with the bone. :PAttached File  DSC00401__Small_.JPG   58.37K   19 downloads

They may not be the biggest racks but most California hunters would be thrilled with them.

true, but when you drive 19hrs I was hoping for a wall hanger - however, meat is meat and the summer sausage + steaks turned out nice!

There you go the meat was worthwhile. What's 19 hours when you get to go hunting. :P

The color of those aspen trees in the background is beautiful.

I tell you what..that camp ground is right off a main road that is not that well traveled and it sits right next to the Slmon River...hunt in the morning...fish midday and go back out in the afternoon. Now that's what I call a get-away! Really cool place, behind the camp there are some steep mountain bluffs and you can see the big horn sheep off in the distance if you glass really careful. I never imagined how big the sheep are - we got a glimpse of what a little over a 100yds and one of the local cowboys said they go close to 300-400lbs...
