Well ive had the itch to go fishing again and was just trying to remember the general area of where I should start. Ive downloaded a few NOAA maps of the ventura harbor that show where some wrecks are and also some "fish havens" that are about a mile out. Personaly I think that that is too far for my boat ( either a 14' sailboat with an outboard on it or my 12' plywood skiff. Ive heard that the kelp beds that are everywhere offer good fishing for Calicos, does that sound right? Im not at all asking for your secret honey hole but ive been fishing a lot in the past and only caught small smelt and perch.
