Stripers are here. Ray has been catching limits of keepers on bait. Water is high cold and muddy. We are going to go after them this after noon for a little while and try plugging for them. Will probably get skunked that way, but you don't know if you don't try. I will report back later.

Well we went all artificial this after noon for the first time just to see what we could do with plastic. We caught 12 fish and let the kids reel them all in. They boated 8 stripers, 3 of them were keepers and 5 too small. They farmed 4 fish right at the boat and two of those would have been keepers too. They got a lesson on not lifting a fish's head out of the water when there is a big lure in it. LOL The kids got pretty mad when the big ones got away. We did not catch any thing big, but it was a fun afternoon for the kids. It was there first time Striper fishing. The bait bite is really good right now and limits can be caught, if you can read the high water. Here is some pictures from today.
Here is a couple of Cell Phone Pictures of Sturgeon caught right before the water came up. They are backing down the river right now but can still be caught.

Fishing is getting better with fish up to 15 lbs. Water dropped yesterday and the school moved 10 miles over night. Ray found them this morning about noon. Caught limits and about 30 extra and called it a day.
