I went up to Klamath Falls Oregon last Thursday for my Aunt's 90th birthday. While I was up there I went over to Tule Lake Refuge to look for some wildlife. From 1972 to 1986 I went up there and hunted geese every year. Here are some of the pictures I took.Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImageListening to all the Specks and Snow Geese brought back some great memories.

You were right up here in God's country. ;)I live just to the right of the bottom of the hills in the sixth picture. Supposed to be some nice bucks hanging out in between the SW corner of the refuge and the park. Haven't gone on a drive over there to see. We used to farm some on the refuge, lot of wildlife of all kinds to see out there for sure. Refuge has really gotten infested bad with coyotes though, hard on a lot of the birds and pretty much wiped the pheasants out. Can't hunt them of course.

Pogo, we stayed at the Ellis Motel and ended up eating at the Captain Jacks Stronghold Restaurant two nights. This was the first time I have ever gone up there at this time of the year. We left Sunday morning at 4:00 am and didn't get to Redding until 8:00 am. It was pretty slow going because of all the snow. We finally got out of the snow driving just above Shasta.

Let me know next time your up this way, I'll meet up with you. Heck, Capt Jack Res is only a couple miles away. Actually owned by a cousin of my Dads. I've been fairly slow loading hay out lately, none of the truckers want to mess with the snow either. :sport037fn4: Supposed to be like this for another week... now I've got time but there isn't many squirrels out.

I love it up there. I'm in the duck club that borders unit 9 of LK but with the perpetual drought it's been real tough to get water for I don't know how many years now. Sad to hear about the coyotes in the refuge. I had heard that the Pheasants were finally coming back from that early 90's crash due to the weather.

We only saw one coyote while we were up there. What Happened to the coyotes on the refuge?
