This /\ is more important than this \/. You have to hit the coyote firstI haven't shot the 06 much, need practice.
Here are some options for ya.http://www.midwayusa...ctNumber=171927http://www.midwayusa...ctNumber=341746http://www.midwayusa...ctNumber=313238I was kinda thinking 125, maybe a harder hit.

Thanks SJ, forgot about that one. Kind of figured everyone is tired enough of hearing me complain about barnes though. I swear I won't stop though until all are educated and quit buying their product.Bisley, you forgot to say they have all calibers in stock too with plenty of production to handle any demand.

An example for ya, here are some numbers from the Federal Website.30-06 110GR TTSX 3400FPS (50Y/+0.2") (100Y/+1.1") (200Y/0") (300Y/-5.5") (400Y/-16.5") (500Y/-34.4")223 Rem 53GR TSX 3200FPS (50Y/+0.5") (100Y/+1.6") (200Y/0") (300Y/-8.0") (400Y/-25.1" (500Y/-55.5")What might the light fast 06 trajectory look like compared to .223?

It either has to be bad shot placement, poor bullet selection/performance, or trying to overextend the caliber (probably most likely). A .222 is actually slighter superior (ballistically) to a .223, and the .223 is a notoriously well known killer. It should take two shots at most, with the second one just assuring death on a slow kill.Thi is a middle-older aged guy who runs long range rifle matches, so I doubt it was shot placement. I'm not worried about hides, and I want 'em DRT, so I'm going to play with the 06.
