Interesting, but I don't think it would be very accurate. Probably better than using a stopwatch though. :D Have to try it with the airguns and compare it to chrono results. Have to find a microphone though.Has anyone here used this method??

You know I think it would be very accurate. The only variable I can think of is the temperature and humidity of the air that will affect the speed of the sound although my guess is that the difference in the speed of sound is negligible. I've worked with the software of the type mentioned, and it can measure down to a millisecond (hopefully that is enough to be accurate). The longer the target is away from the microphone the more accurate it will be.
