We started off our day at Afton Canyon looking for Chukkar and Quail. We spent three hours there without even seeing a thing. We didn't have dogs with us, but we still expected to see something. After disappointment, we headed over to Camp Cady. As always, Camp Cady disappoints unless you are after Jacks. 1 Cottontail was seen, and 12 Jacks. The jacks can be found in the river bottom, but they are always jumping at 50+ yrds and since Camp Cady is shotgun only, not very friendly in that aspect. We talked to another hunter and he said he is fed up with Camp Cady. I have yet to see more than one group of quail there, and of course it was out of season, so when the season shows up, if you are not the first there, good luck. Hope this helped if anyone was interested in these two places.

camp cady has its moments. get up during day break and go out @ dawn. just be sure to watch the legal shooting hours clock. for ANYTHING there, a dog is worth his weight in gold. MUST be careful out there in the bush, there ARE rattlesnakes and sidewinders. ive had personal experience with them there.
