You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

Who was that crazy TV show hunter? I can't remember his name but he tried for three seasons in a row and finally got one. Seems like if you have some nice fog and can get them to flair their wings right on top of you you'd have a decent chance. Of course what goes up must come down so on second thought .........

What you need to get in on is a depredation hunt. They have them on the OR side when they start eating winter wheat real bad, but the standard limits apply so it doesn't really help to much unless you get a couple of guys that will just hunt YOUR fields and keep them hazed off to the nieghbors fields.Geese are really getting to be a problem in some areas, Willamette Valley in OR esp. Known as "winged rats", they really can do a lot of damage. They don't migrate like they used to either, many of them have just gotten to hanging out in one spot year round. But for your purposes they get real docile when in a lot of feed, and unless people have been hazing them, you could easily get close enough to catch one with a bow.

is it legal to shoot migratory birds with a bow ??? never really thought about it, but it would pose a big challenge to any bowhunter, it definitely gives the advantage to the hunted :)
