Well I finally connected with a California deer with some SIZE! Sunday was the last day of the season in X6a.About 10 AM I was hunting private property out of Susanville with my buddy Jeff when he pushed three bucks out of a draw. Two of them veered left in front of me about 125 yards out. The big one gave me a good broadside look as he slowed down-thats all I needed to put one in the boiler room. Here he isPosted ImageThis bad boy is the largest deer I have ever seen! He was so heavy we had to cut him in half so we could drag him up to the truck.Field dressed he weighed 238 lbs! Here's a picture of me holding up his front halfPosted Image4X3 25" Taken with a Browning A-Bolt 270 Win; Federal Fusion 130 grain ammoGreatest hunt of my life. I was on Cloud 9 all the way home!!!

Awesome! He's obviously a Utah deer out on his mission to Susanville... :smiley_turkey_pop_up_log:

Great buck. Yep, there are some big old boys up there. Use to do a lot of hunting up there and saw a lot of those big ones. I never got one like yours, so I'm :smiley_turkey_pop_up_log:

You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

Really nice buck. Eat slowly, it will probably be a long time before you draw another tag for X6a.

You are right about that, Dan. Those X-zones are getting tough to draw; I figure I'll need about 3-4 points to draw again.
