They said "We are aware of the problem and they were thinking about beefing up the patrols"! At least Elmer Fudd will have a job in this economy. And on a quiet night, if you listen carefully, you can hear a Chevy rust being eaten.

Denver Airport - Varmint hunters dream... On final approach from the north I used to love looking out the window at all the prairie dog mounds scattered by the thousands in the fields below. One weekend with my .204 is all I ask... Heck, one weekend with the Disco would be good enough....

If you can get arrested for hunting or fishing without a license, but not for being in the country illegally,… you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots.

This was sometimes a problem before soy wiring. Cars parked at trailheads for a week or so were occasionally damaged by rodents that gnawed the wiring, rubber hoses or worse, the brake lines. That has to suck when you've got to descend 1,000 feet of steep dirt switchbacks to get to pavement and a repair shop. :roflmao3[1]: I've seen backpackers stretch a chicken wire barrier around their vehicles before they started out on a trek. I was told the critters liked the salt grime that flavored the undersides of vehicles.

Turkeys attacked my neighbors kid's car. The toms didn't like seeing themselves in the shiny paint so they rubbed it out for him with their feet and beaks. :roflmao3[1]:

I remember years ago hearing how in Mineral King the Marmots loved the taste of antifreeze and would crawl up into parked cars and chew the radiator hoses to get some. The town auto parts stores couldn't keep radiator hoses in stock to meet the demand.
