Hi all, I'm looking for a recomendation for a taxidermist within reasonable driving distance from Grass Valley. Also, anybody know what deer shoulder mount will likely cost me?Thanks Jim

I don't know of any in the Grass Valley area but Crabtree's has been in business for a very long time and does excellent work. As for cost it's been 20 years since I've had any mounts done.CRABTREE'S TAXIDERMY 7929 OLD AUBURN RDCITRUS HEIGHTS, CA 95610 916-725-4466

my guess is 500 for a shoulder mount. There is a couple in grass valley. Check the phone book. Couldnt reccomend a good one because when i lived there i never killed anything worth mounting.

I've seen them at $650 up here and $250 in Wisconsin so would guess somewhere in between for a nice shoulder mount. I'd like to see some pics of that deer as well!

I'll try and see if I have the pics of that buck on my other system. But, here's 3 we killed in Idaho last year and a huge black bear I shot this year on Sept 23rd - was about 500lbs...I'm getting the head and hide done with the taxidermist I mentioned earlier.Attached File  all3__Small_.JPG   56.03KB   36 downloadsAttached File  100_1542__Small_.jpg   97.75KB   44 downloads

We've seen some good bucks where we hunt, but this one is definnitely a record for us in that area - I shot my black bear in the same area this year...must be the water ?!?
