Is the Ruger red label 20 gauge a good starter shotgun for a kid 13 years old. I went to a local gun shop and they said you can't get a better 20 gauge. My dad and I planning to do some pheasant and duck hunting this coming fall but before we go out I need a shotgun that will do it's job. I am 5 foot 4" and don't think I can handle the recoil of a 12 gauge.P.S. Not trying to find any secret hunt spots but does anyone know where are some nice lakes to go duck hunting?

Also I was wondering whether a savage stevens model gold wing 20 gauge is a good shotgun? Please give me some feed back.

I see you are in Napa. Check out Grizzly Island near Fairfield. Public land waterfowl and pheasant hunting there.

If you really want an o/u 20 ga. get the Ruger. Way better gun, hands down, no question about it.
Sharps, the rifle that made the west safe for Winchester!

My rifle is mine, it isn't for sale, and I only give guns to people that I really like.
