I have been thinking if wearing a ghillie suit while duck hunting down at Wister, would be a good idea? With the hunting areas so wide open and far from the next blind, I don't think it would bother the next guy. Here are some pro's and con's that I have come up withPro's-Lighter to carry out-able to make one mobile while out-Less of a hassle than the arrow weed-Full coverage one's self-Keep me warmerCon's-Not sure if they are waterproof-Not sure if the suit will absorb water and cause me to drown-Will it increase my chances of getting accidently shot because I was mistaken for the swamp thing? This coming up season I will be hunting as much as I can at San Jacinto and Wister. At San Jacinto with the permanent blinds I know it probably wont be allowed there, but I was thinking it would be a great idea for somewhere like Wister.

Your going to be a big sponge.
You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

A major waste of time...in my opinion.

I used to wear a wide brimmed boonie hat that I'd ghilled out. My thinking was that when I hunkered down in my barrel it would make the round hole less noticeable when birds were overhead but it didn't make any real difference. I went back to wearing a regular boonie hat or a ball cap. I've found that if the birds are skittish, keeping your face camoed or covered helps some.

My rifle is mine, it isn't for sale, and I only give guns to people that I really like.

I was not going to wear it and stand in the pond. It was for spots where I could sit in a tree, or some brush alongside the bank of the water. I was thinking maybe just the top half of a ghillie afterall. To avoid becoming swiss cheese I think I might want to add some blazer orange to it. :good:

Kind of a waste of money IMHO. Take that g-suit money and invest that into some better ammo or a mojo. I've been at Wister hunting in my shorts and have gotten some ducks. They key is staying still.

If you have one use it . I like to wear a leafy suit beacuse they allow air flow , and best of all the one I have is 2 little layers of mesh . Whic will keep alot of those insane mosquitos from completely draining you before you even get a shot . I hunt at Whister also and I just hole up in available brush or use previous hunters "blinds" . So to me it makes perfect sense to use a leafy suit . Not to mention it WILL be hot on opening day . I dont know about the blaze orange but I wouldnt be caught dead w/o safety glasses .

I use a mossy leafy sheet. Don't know if it helps or not but it's light and dries out fast when hung up on a clothesline. I even used it in my float tube last year!
