I have been hunting field mice lately with my R-1. I just like to keep shooting year round. Keeps me from getting bored and out of practice. Got these running along the fence in my front yard, at about 17 yards. Here is pictures.

Thanks I wait for them to stop before I shoot. Just had a friend help me rebuild this rifle and the accuracy is pretty impressive to me. It is good enough at that range that if I miss I know it was my fault and that is nice. I believe it makes a person a better shot when the gun they are shooting is accurate enough that they have to admit to themselves that they messed up one way or another.

That's a relief. I don't think I could hit mice on the run, even as accurate as my R7 and R9 are. Air rifles sure are a great way to get some good trigger time and stay sharp. "Aim small, miss small."

Thanks. No strategy! The truth is I live up in the foothills by Camp Far West Lake and we just put in a lawn, trees, drip system, plants, and we put a 10 mil plastic weed barrier covered by bark around all of this. It is cool and wet under the plastic and the mice just love it. So I sit in the front yard and shoot them after work. I guess they are a target of opportunity.
