let say i know a guy that bought a legal higher then 10rd magazine from a gun shop before jan 1, 2000. now how would he stay out of trouble how do they know it wasnt bought last week was he supposed to save the reciept?

Burden of proof is on the Law Enforcement, not you (or your friend). No receipt required.That's your story and your stickin to it.
