Went hunting for dove on private land about 7 minutes from home. Shot limits the last three days including this morning. We had a blast! Killed a Mojave Green and saw a bunch of tarantulas. Felt like I was living in Montana or any other rural place. Get up twenty minutes before shoot time, get dressed while coffee perks, get a cup drive a few minutes, shoot a limit, have breakfast by 7:30 am. That is my dream, to be able to that for everything, not in the cards in So Cal.Attached File  Resize_of_IMGP0438.JPG   132.96K   99 downloadsAttached File  Resize_of_IMGP0438.JPG   132.96K   99 downloads

The tarantulas are mostly males. They migrate around this time of the year (late summer - early fall), searching for females. The females stay underground and the males do the seeking. Kind of spider "Hide and Seek"! :P Great shooting. How many did your boy get? If he got one, that's probably better than I would do. They can be a real challenge to hit. ;) db

Good shooting! B) I hate those spiders! :P I'd be shooting the spiders myself. The snakes don't bother me. ;)

Bozsik, my son actually got all ten of his in an hour and half, including a double. My buddy is hard core into sporting clays competition and has been working with him. In fact the last time out on clays he kicked my butt, which my buddy got a real kick out of. It's been amazing to watch the kid mature into a shooter. Should be a real fun waterfowl season this year.

Nice going Guys ;)
You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

nice limit what kind of gun is that looks like a 1100. The thing to remember in wing shooting is too follow and swing threw your target I found skeet to be very helpful in teaching me that.

My son is holding his Benelli Montefeltro 20 gauge. It was mine originally, I used it in Mexico for dove, quail and phesant. I had the stock cut to fit him and I will probably not see it again unless when he moves up to the 12 gauge he allows his old man to have it back.

I marinated in BBQ sauce and wrapped in bacon then grilled them. Served with wild rice and corn on the cob. Wife and youngest son wouldn't eat them but Chris and I mowed through twenty of the little guys pretty quick.
