This is a mini truck.Posted ImageBut I'm not sure if any are legal for use in California due to our high smog certificate ratings.

Those are cool looking. They would definitly be better when the weather is bad.We used a Kawasaki T-Rex in Texas and it went anywhere we wanted to go. The drawback was whenthe weather was nasty it wasn't the most comfortable set up.Karl

I did a quick search and they are made by every manufacturer in Japan. They are not street legal in the U.S.. That is a federal ban not Cal. 40-50 mpg. They come in every configuration you can think of. They have been making them since the eighties. I only found two new Kei dealers and they are in the Midwest. Kei means small in Japanese. They come in 2, 3 and 4 cylinders. I think they would work great for hunting and farming etc..They should be legal to run where the UTV's go if you can find one.I also found out that Ford's #1 selling car is illegal in the U.S..Karl

there are many states in the us that allow these on public roads. Mostly mid western states not including california. You may own one in cali but there is no green sticker for them. They are good for private property only in california. Strangely enough if its considered a piece of construction or agriculture equipment it may be used on public roads in the same way a backhoe, gradalls or forklifts are allowed to be driven on public roads from job to job. I work for a local city and we have the parks maintenance drive a 2 wheel drive ones like these in town. They all have the orange triangle in thee rear window that indicates they are a construction vehicle.

They are "legal" in the states that let you ride atv's on the street. Like you said. They are 100% illegal on the interstates or other federal highways. Quite a few states allow atv's on the roadways.
