We Packed up the boat and head out to Catalina to fish the boilers and kelp for calicos onn Saturday morning. We launched out of Dana point and haded out into the dark morning. It seemed like it would be a bumpy ride over when we got out of the harbor but it wasnn't as bad as it seemed so a little over an hour and we were pulling up to the island to start out the day of fishing. It was a little windy all day and it made for a lot of work keeping the boat away from the rocks but we all ended up with 20 or more bass a piece( all of them released), the biggest about 5 pounds with about half of them being keeper size. My son was nailing the big mackeral, so much that I didn't have too much time to fish between baiting him up and navigating the boat around the rocks. The batteries in my little camera were dead so I didn't get any pictures of the action but here is a picture of my boy after 13 hours on the boat, he was wiped out. This is how I found him when I got done unloading the truck, luckily my wife wasn't home when we got there to see him crashed on the carpet with fishy clothes.Posted Image

That's really cute. He is pasted. :flag: If more parents spent that kind of quality time with their kids we would not have all of the legal drugging of our youth. Little boys have a load of energy and you certainly made the ground strap work today. Nice going Dad. :drinks: Building memories and giving your son gifts that nobody can ever take away. I am sure he will remember today for the rest of his life.

I agree with CA Desert Dog, I can count on one hand the days that my father and I did something together. He'll treasure today forever! Kudos to you!

Thats great. :drinks:
You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

Wow!! That's the biggest rubber fish I've ever seen. I'm gonna run over to Big Lots and git me one too.

That's because he has a skipper to guide him. One of you guys are going to have to be skipper to his Gilligan. :smiley_kewlpics:

I'm trying to get someone to step up as skipper with a contest for a set of calls, he'll get one this year.
