Just bought a Savage Model 40 .22 Hornet and I'm looking for a decent scope to pair it with, primarily for use as a small game/varmint rig. Anyone tried the Hawke Varmint II scopes? I was looking at the Varmint II 4-16x44 w/ AO and Mil-Dot online and considering it but I've never used their stuff so I'd like to hear from those who have. I'm also open to any other suggestion for a decent scope between $100-$200. Thanks,

I just bought my second Hawke scope on line from Red Hunter!I love it!I have two that are the same both are 4x16 by 50 Sidewinders.I have one on my 6.5 Grendel and the other is on my Rem 700 22-250.Very clear glass and the lighted reticle doesn't "Bloom" at night like some other ones I have. great scope.Don't be afraid that it is no good just because it is much lowewr priced thansome of the other"Name Brand"Scopes!HotLoadsKEnny

I just bought 2 Varmint II scopes, both 6x24 44mm AO mil-dot. havent seen 'em yet, but when I do (better be tmrw, its been a solid 5 days!) I will let you know what I think...

Kenny, I ordered the Hawke 6-20x from ebay. I plan on putting it on the 6.5 Grendel. Please know that ebay vendors frequently buy old merchandise and liquidated product models and factory seconds that are no longer in production. Hopefully, the vendor you purchased from is an authorized Hawke dealer like RedHunterLLC is. All of RedHunterLLC's merchandise is first quality, recent production inventory. We do have occasional sales on discontinued merchandise and that is made perfectly clear when we offer those products at a reduced price.
