Well it's been a few years since we could go but finally they are going to let us try to catch a salmon. Probably just going for a boat ride but what the heck. Going to put the boat in the water tomorrow and ride around and see if I can find some bait balls. Should be a zoo over here on Saturday.

Good Luck. Should be a zoo is an understatement. With the large swell up North, Monterey Bay will be mess. Have fun!Karl

I miss the king salmon runs...used to get em here in Dana Pt. back in the day. I even caught a silver once while drifting for halibut (had to release it...cool black mouthed beauty). Pulled several outta the Oxnard coastline around the dereks slow trolling flashers and krocs on bait balls. Talk about your Chinese fire drill! When 5 rods go off at once it gets interesting!

10-4 on the that. Remember Bruce is from SoCal. :yahoo: :yahoo: :yikes[1]: Boat in slip, ice, rods, nets ready, Beer cold, spot picked out, running out at sunrise with friends and the weather guessers are saying it may be a nice day. The little Grady is ready for action for those black mouths (Kings). Hopefully we can keep the furbags at bay.

Well we got skunked. No pics of the skunk either. Went south to the Carmel Canyon and the fish were north at the Soquel hole. When we heard we beat our way up there but by that time the bite had slowed. Have to wait for the ocean to lay down. Small Craft advisories out this afternoon. There are some Salmon around so that is a good thing.
