Who's going to do a review of the new Mini 14? Didn't somebody around here order one a few weeks ago? What's taking so long? (I suspect poor results)

It was buzzrd feedr that bought it. He doesn't shoot them he just buys them. :) Actually I think it to hot for him and they don't have a convenient range next to his house in Monterey or up at Lake Tahoe. He doesn't trust me to shoot it for him because he thinks I'd tell him it sucks and then offer him half of what he paid for it. :(

I haven't seen any non-paid reviews on any gun boards yet. Is this yet another exadurated marketing ploy from the gun manufacturers? Afterall, if the new Mini 14 REALLY shoots less than MOA right out of the box like that, it's be Ruger's most accurate rifle in production. I find that hard to believe.I'm just ripping on it because I want one, but not if it's inaccurate.

Wed. a.m. I'm going to the range and will report back. Sorry for the delay but I melt at over 100' and at 110' I get out of Dodge. I'm still waiting for the ammo that ShooterJohn promised me but it must have gotten lost in his huge warehouse. I guess I'll just shoot some of my old stuff.

I don't think it matters Heath if you got a mini 14 or not, Shooterjohn hoards his cache of ammo and won't share with us common folk.

Went to range but had mixed results. Scope I put on the Mini 14 was from my soninlaws FAL and it doesn't have the power I need to shoot groups. He use to shoot 600 meters with the scope but he had real good eyes. The target dot is about a saucer size at a 100 yds. I will almost guarantee it is not a MOA weapon with a high power scope, but I'm rescoping and will report back later in the month. Shot the Thumbhole Savage 17 some and it wasn't cooperating, seems to have some barrel pressure issues. Going to free float it more and try that again, still not crazy about the accu-trigger. Shot two pre-accutrigger 17 Savages that have SSS Triggers (nice trigger) one w/a Simmon Mag. 44 6.5-20x (don't like) which shoots OK, and another w/a Nikon 6-18 Buckmaster SF Plex that shoots great. I really like that SSS trigger even better than the Rifle Basix I have on my Marlin.

Hum. ;) I was hoping that mini would do better. Maybe a new scope then. I don't see why you don't like those Accutriggers. :P The blade in the center takes some getting used to. But that's no hill for a climber. :P
