Guy's I'm looking for a stock to replace the wood one on my older model (no accutrigger) 93 savage left hand 17hmr. I would prefer a thumbhole type. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I don't think you're going to have any luck. They make a replacement thumbhole for the Marlin's but not the Savage. And a left handed one

Hey John, Maybe he could start with a good carving set and some 2x6 walnut stock.I don't think you're going to have any luck. They make a replacement thumbhole for the Marlin's but not the Savage. And a left handed one

Sharpshooter Supply is supposed to have replacement stocks for the rimfire Savages pretty soon but I don't think that they make a thumbhole. http://www.savagesho...ters/index.html

They just don't like us lefties. But now if you wanted a real nice left handed thumbhole stock in a couple of colors and a couple of styles I have just the place. I bought two from them and was very happy.http://www.southpawshooter.com/

Do they offer stocks for the savage? I clicked on the link and all I saw were ruger 10/22 stocks or did I miss something. Going back for another look.They just don't like us lefties. You might try Boyd's Gun Stocks. Just today, I received one of their RH Thumbhole laminate replacement stocks for my Accutrigger 93R17GV. I've not seen any non-stock thunb hole stocks for a lefty besides the ones for those 10/22's.
