Just got my savage 17 HMR and im pretty pleased with it except the synthetic stock has a flat comb and i cannot rest my cheek on the stock and still look through the scope. not a huge deal since it is just a 17 and not a high powered rifle. i knot there are add on combs that fit around the stock but i was wondering if there is any replacement stocks for this gun i cant seem to find any. i was also wondering if there are higher capacity mags for it bigger that the 5 shot? (up to 10 to keep it CA legal) i cant seem to find any on the internet so im thinkin that they arn't out there.

I've looked and looked and looked and the only 10 round mag I found was one example someone had custom made themselves, out of two 5-rounders I believe.Check out Boyds for the replacement stocks. They have had thumbhole stocks and such for the Savage 93, but I don't know if it is in there regular inventory.

Boyds, Richards, and Sharp Shooters SupplyBoyds will have the fastest and cheapest (cost) product, available everywhere. The stock quality itself is decent but not great. Great customer service. Richards will have the slowest possible service you can imagine, they make a good product but you will have to do some serious finish work. They have fully finished stocks available but I don't know anyone who has ever mentioned using them. Cost is decent but you have to put work into it. Mediocre customer service.SSS will have very nice quality stocks, their customer service is very good but they take awhile to ship. Cost is $300 and worth it. You do need to finish it but that is just a light sanding and oil. Best to call and personally talk to them.http://www.boydsgunstocks.com/http://www.rifle-stocks.com/http://www.sharpshootersupply.com/
