Thanks SJ. That is very helpful. I have had difficulty finding specific info on guidelines and definitions about that topic in the regs. As always, this forum is a great resource of useful information.Wanton waste only applies when it is a game animal. Since coyotes are non-game animals it doesn't apply to them. Leaving jack rabbits is wanton waste because they are considered game. If a coyote has a decent pelt many will save it.

Please tell us you mean you eat the BBQ'd PELTS - not the meat. Eating coyote meat would be nasty!I save the pelts and they are pretty good BBQ or slow roasted...

Coyotes and Jackrabbits are in season year round. If you want to skin the coyote that is up to you. If you would rather leave it for food for other critters than that is your choice too. Some folks have the furs tanned and made into useful items. If they have Mange... just leave em lay... Good Luck.Hello, newbie here. I just got my certificate. And i havent read the rules and regulations yet. IM in Riverside area. Okay, so are coyotes in season right now or all year round? What else is in season? Oh and so i wont get in trouble for leaving a dead yote. The instructor at bass pro said he takes his to a place were zoos use the meat. And great yote question i was wondering the same thing. I might go out this weekend then.

Where does the guy from BPS take his dead coyotes? I took my first the other weekend and let him sit on a hillside for a hour or two....stiff as a board when I went to toss him.Hello, newbie here. Dont know, he was mentioning how nothing goes to waste. He eats, or finds some use of everything he kills.Where does the guy from BPS take his dead coyotes? I took my first the other weekend and let him sit on a hillside for a hour or two....stiff as a board when I went to toss him.

Wow! I'm afraid guys like old Kenny are getting scarce. Any chance of getting him to run for political office? Thanks for that story.I have in fact in my desk drawer right now, receipts from Kenny for 5 Coyotes I took to him year before last. It's like having money in the bank. I never met a man that honest in my life.Jim
