rifle is M70 Win 243 Featherweight which I inherited from my grandfatherhe was caught napping at about 9:30 amI heard him get up and he stepped out from behind a pinion pine to look at medistance was about 50 yards, no morefortunately, as buck fever took over, he stood there long enough for me to scope him twice to check his antlerswhy I did that I'll never know; just to make sure he was a legal buck I suppose
anyway, 2 days later, had to drive to Trona about 35 miles away to get the tag validatedcouldn't find anyone, Sunday, volunteer FD, station empty, finally called SO; they sent a deputy from Ridgecresthe said he couldn't/wouldn't validate the tag; I explained I could be cited if he didn'tI had to show him the regs that even a mailman could do it, if I could find onehis only comment was " we don't see many deer in Trona"anyway, thought I would share the photohence my name here, .243Win
