My dad bought me a lathe the other day so I figured I'd make him a call. I turned this one from a piece of eucalyptus I had laying around, what do you guys think?Attached File  1.jpg   8.65KB   11 downloads

Very nice job. That is truly a classic shape. Hmmmm....all of a sudden I have an urge for a bottle of Coke.I just bought a new metal working lathe. I used to have a little 7 X 10 mini lathe but I was working a stainless muzzle brake and the tool jammed into one of the holes in the brake. So much for the cheap lathe's gear box. I upgraded to a larger unit with all steel gears and more power. Now I can really hurt myself if something goes wrong....LOL

That's a good looking call jawbreaker. I'd like to see some pictures of the ends. What kind of finish did you use?

Thanks guys, Braz, I still need to learn what this lathe will do. I drill the call and use my dremel to shape the ends, I use deft to finish the call.
