Ok guys does anyone have or has used and have an opinion or any 22LR AR's?im looking to get a complete upper or complete gun to teach the wife and let her get used to the platform so far I like the S&W and I dont like the ruger SR22 so lets hear your input.

The S&W looks like one of the best candidates out there. Unless you want complete, then it's all about Spikes.

I have a Spikes ST-22 that is dedicated just for 22lr. It is rather on the expensive side compared to the new only 22lr AR's on the market. It's lower is marked 22 lr but can be used for 223 / 5.56. The upper can not as it is exclusive to 22lr. Accuracy is good and the add ons are endless. I have gone just a little far on the tacticool side but this was the purpose of the rifle. It is not light weight or cheap as dressed by any means due to all the accessories on it. BB

WOW is that some sort of night vision device in front of a holographic sight with an infrared laser?? If not... it sure looks like it, and that is fricken cool. Its always fun to have some tacti-cool stuff that isnt too spendy to shoot.

I believe thats a optical multiplier

Optical multiplier makes a lot more sense... Usually night vision attachments go in front of the optic anyways

My Spikes build. Id rather go Spikes as all the parts are milspec. The Colts and other 22lr ARs usually are unique to themselves and cant use milspec/other AR interchangable parts.

I am in the process of building my dedicated .22lr upper how does the spikes shoot? I know they have two barrel options but I am not sure I want to spen the extra 100.00 for the upgraded barrel any suggestions?

I have a Colt AR-.22 , just got the S&W AR-1522 and I also have 3 GSG-5's. The Colt looks cool, shoots very accurate but the internals are a little on the cheap side (my opinion) The S&W looks to be much better.. I really like the weight and the way it field strips.. I have only had it for about 3 days so I have not had a chance to fire it, or even Finger %uck it that much.. The GSG-5 is hands down the best little .22 semi auto I have ever owned (at this point). I mounted a Trijicon reflex (I'll post pics) on the one that is my shooter and it's very accurate!! I have not had a single jam or issue with it.. I have put well over 20K rounds of any .22 round I have ever purchased.. It eats everything up! I promised Jeff a full review of the S&W once I get to play with it. So I will just post it for everyone to see. Bronco, Love that build buddy!! Can we still find one those lowers? I'm would like to pick on up ASAP!

So, is the Lothar Walther barrel upgrade worth the extra cost or is the standard barrel providing acceptable accuracy?

Did you get the one with the fixed collapsable stock or the real collapsible? Quality is excellent on the examples I have seen.

Big 5 has them in the ar set up 22lr.At alguist arms in turlock they had the S&w model that one was the most realistic of all of them.

I think Big 5 is selling the Colt/Umarex version. Not too user friendly as you have to yank the mags out. S&W while being mostly polymer has the added advantage of a functional bolt catch/realease.

Is this a 16 inch barrel with the slip fake suppressor?

yup got it and some spare mags have not shot it yet maybe today if not maybe in april on a camping trip
