Pheasant call anyone?

Anybody ever use pheasant call and does it work for pen raise pheasant or wild one only???

I used one allot as a youngster but they were all wild birds then. All it is used for is to get them to give away their location. They won't come to you. I don't know why a raised pheasant wouldn't call back. Being pen raised never stopped my roosters from crowing. :good:

Thats is what I want to find their location. I am too cheap to own a dog and those with dogs get their limit and leave. Although most of the birds are still in the field.

It works best in the early morning before the birds are disturbed. And I used one very successful when I didn't have a bird dog. Normally the roosters will step up to a high point to look for their adversary.

I just use a board with an old rusty nail in it when you pull it out sound a bout right :smiley-outta-here:
