Went out to Gray Lodge on Saturday and had a good day, for the most part.We were the only ones set up at our "spot" that we love. Nobody comes out to within even 400 yards of us, and then, of course, 10 minutes to shoot time, someone is 50 yards away. Out of alllll the space that day...The birds were dcoying, but they'd bank over the other guys spot, and we lost out on two or three flocks because of this. I convinced my buddy that the birds would approach from a better position of we move our decoys over 20 yards. It worked. The birds, approached and cut them off. Finally, the other hunters couldn't use our dekes anymore. Two of us ended up with 5 ducks and a little baby speck. It should have been better, but at least all of the ducks were decoying.Yolo on Sunday - now that was a bad story. There were NO DUCKS on Sunday at Yolo! NONE!People were taking coots because they were so bored. The ranger said that he hadn't seen anyone come in with more than 3 birds, mostly single's and zero's. What a bad day. We had two ducks for 3 guys. The numbers for the day before were just fine, high in fact. Oh well, that ended up being a wasted card.Next weekend is Delevan, and I've got high hopes. The following weekend is either Little Dry Creek (buddy got a #9) or Gray lodge (I got a #24).Also, got an invite to do some hunting in Washington in December for some ducks we don't see many of out here, including sea ducks. I think I'm going. Also planning to go out with you, Timmy. I'll get back to you on those dates. Thanks!
