Hey there, just wonderin what power scope for a Marlin 336 .30-.30? I'm leaning towards a low power, like 2X, but what do you recommend. I want something compact and less than $200. Also, this will be my first lever action rifle and the ole eyes are'nt what they used to be. Thanks

4X with scout scope mount forward. Very quick acquisition for older eyes. Go with a long eye relief pistol scope. I have this rig on a lever rifle and it's really nice. Here is a photo.Attached File  1.jpg   8.54KB   25 downloads

I like that setup DesertDog. Also was looking today at a Bushnell 1.5-4.5x32 Banner scope, I think it's supposed to have like a 3.5 to 4" eye relief. Is this one a good choice? I really like the scout setup, kinda reminds me of our older M1A's.
