My sons on vacation from uncle sam and has not cought a fish in almost two years , not a whole lot of fish in the desert over there. whent up to the hills for some trout ,they were small but fun. heres a picture of the little guy with a limit. "Back to some place" My dad used to get madder than heck when I would tell him that. Nice looking stringer there though. Glad to hear you got to spend some quality time together.

I'm taking the grandaughter to see her great grandma tomorrow to go fishing. We meet GGrandma over at the fishing pier at Gaviota Beach. Here's me and the grand daughter last summer with her first fish.That's great Tim.

I had a relative who owned a Cabin up at Strawberry when I was a kid. 
Nice place to ride my mini bike and catch lots of trout. I wish they still had that place.

Off of 108 take old Strawberry road. 108 kind of follows the Stanislaus river all the way up past Sanora pass lots of good spots.

We used to go above Strawberry to Herring Creek. Park at the campground and work downstream.Off of 108 take old Strawberry road. 108 kind of follows the Stanislaus river all the way up past Sanora pass lots of good spots.

I been up there too. Had one of my record trout fishing days up that way. Best fishing you could dream of for medium sized brookies right during and after a thunderstorm where a creek dumped into a lake. Unbelievable!
