been booking hunts for years and on of my good friends Jerry Scott is incharge of the hunting at the Onyx ranch in lake isabella he suggested we try to book a hunt on line? were interested in what kind of responce we get so here it goes..the hunt includes a BBQ lunch, 5-6- birds planted for each hunter, max of 10 hunters.we have dog handlers that work for tips, however if your dogs good around strangers and other dogs you can bring them and work them in the field, camping will be aloud and the next day you can get the left over birds, all together its a real good hunt. so any inerest let me know.the cost per person is 300.00,,,,Happy Hunting BIG JONPosted Imagethe area we hunt is on the othe side of my 5th wheel, great area for the birds and they have good coverage.

They may get that in SoCal but in NorCal the going rate is about $25/each for a kick and shoot. Actually if you go back into the Midwest and shoot for 3-4 days total cost per bird gets up to around $200/bird.

You are correct. When we go to Iowa to visit family 5 of us usually do a 30 bird put out for $60 a piece.

I`ve spoke with some of the guys at the ranch and they usualy book phesant hunts during quail chucker season,so the hunters have plenty of birds to shoot at, Pluss Jerry Scotton pays hafe the hunters fee to phesant guy, Scottons hunts are well known for how good the birds fly and fly they do.It is a good hunt and we allways work hard to make everyone happy.I think sadly that the days of cheep hunts are over in our state, the ranches are becomming few and far between due to the high cost of insurance.I use to book hunts abought 40 to 50k per year worth and still know some folks in the biz and i cant find a new ranch that would work with me. I those days every 5 hunts payed i would get 1 free to sell or what ever, I always gave those hunts away to my friends and family, and i`am proud to say that i never made any money booking hunts, i did it for the oppertunity to meet with great folks like myself who love the hunt, the stories i can tell would blow your socks off and crack you up.The memories i have during thoes years are treasured by me,I`am affraid that the cost will keep new hunters away? I have and will always share any information i know of as to the location of BLM areas that are good or any ranches i run across.I have some health isues that will hopefuly be resolved after surgery next month? but one of the thing that i keep in mind is getting back to hunting the way i use to
