i been shooting squirrels and cottontails a lot lately with my bow. ive used judo points, field points with the shocker rings, and bludgeon heads. i cant seem to find the right tip. i shot a squirrel yesterday with the bludgeon from about 20yards, it really rocked em and he flew about 10 feet, but to my surprise he just rolled over and ran away. so what tips do you guys use for the little guys? any suggestions for me? the rabbits put up a fight with anything ive tried, just curious if yall are using something better that i dnt know about...thanks nick

I've been using field points from an elevated position (my balcony) which pretty much pins em to the ground. If I need a second shot to kill em, I use the shovel. Whap! Sleepy time.

An empty .38 or .357 cartridge also makes a great judo type of point for arrows and has some great knock down power.

I use a blunt that has a nice sharp edge where the flat serface hits the side of the point and an adder behind the point . They go in and has lots of shock but do not come out . Have a shovel with you some of the big squirrels still make it to thier holes. a blunt will keep the arrow from ricocheting .I also try to get head and shoulder shots. Look at the tip of the arrow and you can see a blunt with adder behind it.Posted Image
You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

ShooterJohn had it right as well, when I was a kid I was shooting my Bows, a target tip and a piece of sheet rock. Id shoot the sheetrock, and the field/Target tipped arrow would get stuck in the Sheetrock. I then took an empty shell casing and placed it over the end of the arrow. It Blasted right through. No lost fletchings Etc.. The thump with a heavy Blunt tip should do the trick.
