I asked this question about your rifles, now here's where we discuss what you've shot with them! The largest animal I've shot with my 300 Win Mag is my whitetail buck from 2003.

Not a Big Game person, but when I was in New Zealand in 1980, the fur trapper I stayed with lent me his Winchester model 70 270 and I scored a pig. (180lbs dressed)db

Was Elk hunting in Montana. Had my 338 win mag and shot me a little white tail forked horn to fill my deer tag :) Well I pierced its ear with one shot then clipped its knee witht he second shot. Then it stuck its head in the brush and broke it own neck. could not take being shot at again by dad said. Robert

My old mazda B2000 truck 22lr :) got a couple of small bucks with my 270 win ,jacks, squirrels and cotton tails with the hawken. the 270 is a yote killer to.
You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

I havent killed anything big yet. However my uncle just got back from Africa where he took down an elephant. I will try to get some pictures of it. I was amazed at what it looked like after the africans butchered it. Barely any blood. He said he got to take a few pictures with it then his guide let out a loud whistle and africans came out of no where and started to chop up meat.

the only big game i've ever taken was when i had a junior either sex tag and we were shooting jacks. I had left my ' 06 in the truck. with just a 22 hornet we spooked a doe and at 30+ yards made a brain/spine shot dropped right there.

Biggest one I harvested so far was a Kudo from Namibia (Gold Medal) with my 300 Weatherby, then Oryx (also Gold Medal), Hartebeast (also Gold Medal) and followed by a blue Wildebeast in South Africa with my trusty Remington BDL 30-06.

I shot a HUGE ram once, the biggest one ever. Well it was a Ramcharger a Dodge to be exact. I was antelope hunting and my friend insisted I shoot across the hood so they wouldn't see us and run. Well we were on a little slope and I had a perfect shot looking through my scope. But the most god awful boom happened when I pulled the trigger and the antelope ran away without a scratch. I wish I could say that for my friends hood. It was definitely a kill shot because that hood would have bleed to death with the rip I put in it. Oh well, all you can do is laugh about it. :P He didn't laugh. :P

200 pound wild boar with a 264 Win Mag at about 225 yards with a head shot. It dropped him good. Never hunted out of state so the chances of getting something truly huge are pretty limited.Jason

Excellent shot @ 225 yards, nice! Was that shot from a rested position, or off hand?

I definitely had a rest on that one. I came around the corner and he was down hill in a valley. It was sprinkling lightly and the wind was in my favor so he didn't smell me and take off. He had no clue I was there so I had plenty of time to get set and relax my breathing to take the shot. It was during quail season two years ago and I generally like to bring my rifle just in case I see some pigs. The 264 Win Mag is such a flat shooting gun that shots on large game at that distance are not impossible. Usually when I shoot at hogs they are running and I don't get this kind of time to get set and really make the shot count. I only have one picture of the beast which I have pasted below. Looking at the picture the shot looks like it hit right behind the head in the neck. Still a pretty good shot. When he was hit it was like his body just shut down. His back legs dropped then the front and he just rolled onto his side. No twitching, not a sound. Most amazing thing I ahve ever seen. Anyway, here's the picture. The only picture I have is this head shot my uncle took where you can see the tusks.Posted ImageEnjoy!Jason

Thats a beauty! well done. There is nothing better than a controlled rest position shot, especially when every thing comes into alignment and you bag a beauty like that.

Thanks, I didn't get it mounted because I was broke but I put the head somewhere to dry out. The bottom jaw dried out nicely and now sits in my flower bed but some critter hauled off my skull. ;) Jason

a few moose... id guess 1200lbs or soa few caribou... i think they are 3-400lbsa 7 foot blackie that must have been 350lbsa dall ram that was 2-250lbsa couple big Wisconsin whitetails that pushed 200lbsall with my .375 H&H (except the deer were with my dad's old .06 when i was a kid). I don't think anything was over 100 yards away except the sheep which was 350 yards.
