We went out today early to do some calling in the desert with the FX3. We started the first stand with some cottontail in distress. After 20-minutes with nothing showing, I tried a coyote locator and got an almost instant response way off in the distance. We shifted positions and tried again about 500-yards closer to the group that responded. I set the caller downwind and we staggered the three shooters upwind. I started a low pup in distress sound for about 5-8 minutes. We got a very enthusiatic response from the group and they were close. I followed the pup in distress with a series of male challenges, and then a minute of silence. I then started up multiple pup distresses. After about 20-seconds I heard the shot.Three coyotes came in hard focused on the caller. Two of the shooters saw them coming in and Jose was able to drop one at 40-yards. They were charging the caller ready to fight. This trio was completely fooled. Although I've called in animals with the caller, this is the first confirmed kill with the FX3.After the coyote, we chased jacks for a few hours and ended up with 13 total.A great day of hunting!http://www.jesseshunting.com/photopost/data/517/medium/Picture1.jpg

Great work switch! The fox pro is a beautiful tool. Where are you shooting. I used to hunt E. of Taft that looked much like your background. But then all that area around Taft looks the same.Steve

Yeah, the guns. We took a bunch of pictures and were anxious to get out again. Hog, we were out in the desert. I have hunted Taft before, but this was way south of there.

Way to go. looks like a good size yote.
You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

We skinned out the head and cleaned it up pretty good in the field. I'll finish the clean up here, dry it out and drop it in with the workers. I can never pass up a free meal for them.

I'll send you a picture when I drop it in with the beetles.Coyote face? Can't help you there. I will suggest you start your search some where around coyote cross roads. Or you can just ask Henry!

Shoot-it, now that i read that, I can see how that sounds. The workers I am referring to are my 2-3 million dermestid flesh-eating beetles. They clean skulls for me. No human takers of the old coyote tar-tar.

I have six active colonies, 4 tanks and two larger colonies for working up skulls. Man, they ripped through that coyote in less than 18-hours.

Thanks Bill. Hopefully I can start getting a fraction of the coyote action you get. Practice, practice, practice.
