Went and payed for my gun and started my 10 day wait. Man the scope the mount the gun all sitting there and it could not come home with me. I guess I am glad i am so busy with work and school it leaves me less to time to think about it LOL. I have the 1st and 2nd weekends of May off from school so i am hopign after I pick it up I can at least fit a Range day in . Robert

I hate that also.I wish it was like the old days you go too your local hardware store pick up a shovel some pipe glue and by the way I will take that 30/30 winchester too pay for them and home you go..... Thats what the older people tell me.... I do remember when i was a kid in the early 80s JcPENNY Catalog had guns in it 3 pages full I loved that Book.Can you believe that.

You certainly live in a kinder more gentler world now then when I grew up and you still had freedom and the liberty to persue what you wanted. Like 10 days is going to stop anybody with the willful intent of doing harm to somebody else. They should do that with automobiles and kitchen knives also, maybe baseball bats too. I just love stupid laws that force a person to think what the idots want is good for you..Could you imagine how irate the women would get if they had to go through a background check and have to pay whatever the new going rip off rate is for one and then have to wait 10 days to get that new GinZoo 4000 ha,ha,ha...Walt

Yes I agree........But we do have a bunch off stupid laws now that you probably didn't have growing up .Wait did you say the world is more kinder we still have a few dangers like Radical Muslims cutting peoples heads off for alla... going around saying all infidels should die. Other than that life isn't too bad....

It's still like that in places other than Kalifornia. I've purchased several rifles and handguns and brought them all home the same day I paid for them (all of them in Colorado). If you perform a background check at the time of purchase what's the justification for waiting another 10-15 days? Isn't that the purpose for a background check, to make sure you're legally entitled to own a firearm? How many murders are committed by these types of people?I would suggest that if you're not happy with the current Kalifornia firearms legislation, then maybe you/we should do something to change it. Isn't that where the real power of government is supposed to lie, with the voters? Other than the NRA I don't know of any organization that is trying to reverse this trend, especially here in Kalifornia. If they exist and I'm ignorant, please inform me. I'd be happy to volunteer my time and money to support such an effort. I do know that the politics and gun ownership laws of this state scare me. I'm reminded of an old quote that goes something like "Fear the government that fears your guns." Only dictators should be afraid of an armed populace. How can it be that our constitutional right has been so systemically eroded through legistlation and judicious opining so as to become on the verge of being worthless, all without any kind constructive or effective rebuttal? What's next on the list of rights to remove?I'm ranting now, so I'll just stop. Sorry for the long post.

Stop using logic to argue against those laws. Liberals do not understand logic.And didn't Reagan's would-be assasin purchase his pistol that same day? I understood that was one of the Brady Bills major selling points... but I was just a kid when that happened.
