Now that was friendly. I'll put you in some areas that have cats and I'll tell you the easy way to get them. "Hunt at night with lights", red lights. You look out in that desert and you'll see hills, most of those hills have bobcats on em. Try off of 138 back up in the hills. also try off of 14 in the canyons, years ago we did good in the El Paso Mts. Anywhere you have rocks and hills usually hold cats. I remember we took two cats off that old mine road just before you get into the town of Mojave. You'd sometimes be suprised where bobcats live.Make sure you check the laws about using lights and the type of guns you can use. As far as I know you can use lights 9 volts or less in every county in California except San Benito, Monterey and now some BS about Riverside county. 12 volt lights from your truck can also be used in parts of southern California and areas up in northern California. Make sure you know the rules....Good luck

Those areas there in LA county are shotgun only. You'll have to cross into another county if you want to shoot rifles.

thanks onecoyote and cranky farmer for the info. you could tell seasoned hunters from others... we all share the same passion, hunting... and we all promote the same sport that's why we're all here... not just to whine and brag... so there's no need to put down anyone in the blog, right badcoyote?

It don't really matter guys now does it, we are all hear to enjoy and try to help others. Champ73, The areas I gave you are not exact places or roads, so you'll have to do alot of that work yourself. Get in these areas back up in the hills and look for sign in old riverbeds, washes and sandy areas, that would be a good start. You don't have to hunt at night, they well come in the day, but the night shift is the best time for cats. We have lots of people come to these predator calling forums and want to know where to hunt. Many of us have spent a lifetime finding our own places to hunt, I know I have. I understand where BADCOYOTE was coming from and I'm sure there was no harm intended. Have a great weekend you guys, maybe you can even do some hunting.
