The Little Big Horn was the brain child of our own "ehd". He wanted a howler that was only 3"-4" in length for making medium to high pitched coyote vocals. This one is around 5" in length, but still not much bigger than ordinary predator calls. Less than half the size of my regular buffalo horn howlers, the Little Big Horn is surprisingly loud and sounds so much like a coyote it sends chills up a grown man's back. ehd will be getting this one to test in the field for me.

A work of art.!!! This call closely resembles the mouth of a coyote. Should be exellent for the all important mid tone vocalizations!!!.thank-you so much Rich ,cant wait to give it a test!!

Yea, but you gotta remember, Rich is blowing it. And he can make a coke bottle sound like a $1000 call. Seriously, it sounds great Rich. Nice going on another fine call.

Shoot,I do not subsribe to the theory of the so called "experts" when it comes to coyote vocalizations. No man knows for sure what coyotes are saying with this how or that. Only the coyotes know for sure, and they don't know any language but coyote. With coyote vocals, the meaning is in the "inflection" or "tone" of the voice. We can't even know for sure wwhat the SEX of a coyote is until we get close enough to see the coyote. A high pitched howl isn't always a female. I will post a "how to" on howling in the near future, so stay tuned.

my way of thinking too. i have been calling coyotes quite a while. been in the hills all my life. I have never heard a invitation howl in the wild. Have heard a lonesome howl,aggressive or challenge howl/bark , a warning call and real pup squeals. One call that none of the howlers use or talk about is what I call a den defense call. Now that i have heard many times. you light that up and better kick the scattergun off safe. I save it for later in the year,but will try to work up a sequence for you. take your decoy dog and blow some pupsqueals ,then go to the den defense call and your dog prays you dont miss!!! cause it is going to catch some real hell. one other note on howling. 1case out of 100 do they ever talk back to me. But they do come to it.

All the sounds are great from that little howler, but I never expect anything less from Rich. The first howler he ever made for me was a full size cowhorn howler, and it is the loudest most realistic howler I have ever heard. All of Rich's calls are very easy to blow, and that rascal personally tunes them right to your specifications. If I could make some of the sounds he makes with his mouth, I'd probably not need some of the calls I carry. That darned Coyote Estrous Chirp is as real as it gets. The only downside I see to his business is having to breathe and eat that dust off those horns, especially the buffalo horns. He is a pure jewel, in my opinion, maybe just a little bit in the rough if you mess with him. P.S. I couldn't stand it. He created a bad "Need" for one of these little buffalo horn howlers so I had to order one.
