Got out this Am for some cold weather ducks temp's where 18 degress and a 20 mph wind from the north for about 4 days now so the ponds are frozen. 3 fresh inches of snow and low tide on my spot means lots of feeding ducks . 5 minutes in nice solo red head merganzer comming down the creek it's 40 yards wide 1000 yards long i sit 3/4 down i shot him at 20 at full speed and down he went all the way across .As i was getting it 5 mallards 3 drakes an 2 hens lock up and land as i'am getting to my blind . I sit and wait for about an hour while they swim and eat there way up from 200 yard at about 60 yards south of me they get together and take off out of range i watched them fly off dissapointed . I put down my gun and light my cigar ready to wait some more i look up and a drake and 2 hens where locked up right in front of me comming back in 2 shots and two down got the drakewas 5 feet off the water and i got the hen as she was leaving the scean just in time also the tide was rising and my 17 inch boots where pushed to get my birds on the other side .

Nice shooting Chris. That's cold alright but it didn't seem to hurt your hunting.
