Get a Leupold... preferably their MK4 model with TMR reticle and 1/4 MOA turret. You can't go wrong and their warranty is second to none. With 1/4 MOA turret, you have flexibility in the field or even in competition, unlike the BDC Turret. Remember BDC is calibrated using one set of environmental condition. Change that condition, which is not uncommon when hunting or competing and you'll have a problem. What is that problem? you might ask. Let's say, you zeroed your rifle at the range somewhere here in Southern California where the average elevation, unless you live inland is around 100 ft, temperature around 78 degrees, the barometric pressure at 29.95 in/hg and the relative humidity at 79%. You chronograph your load at these condition and have Leupold make you a BDC. Now, Let say you are invited to hunt in Colorado, where the average elevation is between 7 to 10,000 ft, the temperature around 50 degrees, the barometric pressure at 22.00 in/hg and the relative humidity at 30%. What do you think happen to your load at these condition? You will need another BDC and so on and so forth. With 1/4 MOA Turret, all you need is a good ballistic program, like JBM, which you can get free in the internet. Make your ballistic card and with a decent rangefinder, you will be in business! You can make cards, specific to any area you care to hunt or shoot. With a calculator, you can modify the data in the field. I used to use these method effectively prior to switching to PC base ballistic program. Good Luck DFKind of impressed. But like you guys are saying it's not as common of a name as Nikon,or Leaupold... hmm what to do what to do
