Picked up my new bow today from Cabela's. It's a Reflex Growler. The wife ordered it for me for Xmas and got a really good deal on it. I put a Cobra DRM 5 pin sight on it. It is super quiet and fast.Posted ImagePosted Image

Nice looking bow Jake. Bring it to Redding the next time and I'll take you to Straight arrow bow hunters for some fun shooting. They have a real nice walking course.

Cool looking Bow! I have no idea what any of the stuff you said means, but it sounds cool. :D Man, I REALLY don't NEED another sport to spend my money on. MUST STAY AWAY FROM BOWS!! :)

Yeah trust me you don't want to get into it. Pricey. But man it is fun. And you can pretty much shoot a bow anywhere. Alot of landowners will give permission to bowhunters but not rifle. I plan on taking a coyote with it as soon as I get a chance to sight it in. BTW - I've been meaning to ask, how did that trail cam work out for you?Red Dog - That place looks pretty cool. We have a similar place up here but we have to much snow at the moment to go there.

Nice set up even with the training wheels and Chistmas lights :P ;) . A coyote would be cool to get . Going to take my old chunk of wood and string out tomarrow.Wanna kill you do need a bow . Shooter you can be Rambo with a compond but you need a recurv or long bow to be Conan. :P
You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

Maybe that will be my next THING, maybe first quarter of 09. Right now, I'm trying to get dialed in for CCW. It's amazing how expensive each thing is once you get into it.As for the game camera, I used it on my dog a few times. :P I live in the Suburbs and I wanted to use it as a cheesy security camera. ;) But I couldn't find a place to put it where it would still work and not get stolen.

It's a great choice. What sight did you end up going with? And happy b-day early.

I'm still not sure, I am leaning towards a Cobra Boomslang. I only need the sight and some arrows (and the bow to arrive) Then I'll be all set. What arrows are you gonna use? I haven't set up a bow for about 15 yrs. That was when I was 15, and it was all hand-me-downs.

I use Gold Tip Expedition Hunter 5575's with 4 inch plastic vanes. Not the best arrow on the market but it's all I can afford and they seem to work fine through my old bow. Haven't had a chance to really shoot my Reflex with all the snow on the ground here.
